Not my story, but a friend once encountered this guy that traded her some mons after a battle, this guy wanted to use the ingame chat and kept pestering her about trading mons until she agreed, she told me that the guy was this 12 year old kid and she didn't say anything because that she was embarrassed, and the kid kept telling her to speak to him and that if she did he'd send her shinies, she quit the game and then later she saw his profile message popup in the aquintances list and it said "talk to me [her ingame name]" in caps, I saw it too.
