Evidence:
1) There is a new APK out, version 0.133.0. Usually Dronpes over at the Silph Road will data mine these things within 24 hours. The only times he hasn't done so is when Niantic requests he doesn't because of spoilers. I think he's withheld data mines twice in the past for this reason.
2) Suddenly, without any prior warning, almost all Poketubers are in San Francisco for a "meet up". These things are usually advertised about a month in advance, but this was quickly put together just a few days ago. To add to this, every Poketuber who was part of the official Niantic sponsored "Summer Tour" is currently with that group. They all don't gather like this without some reason, usually Community Day or a big event like Safari Zones & Go Fest.
Conclusion:
I think there is something big cooking, that Niantic doesn't want to be spoiled that is also tied with them gathering the youtubers in San Francisco.
