What about doing this, instead of Tolkien's fantasy world, just make it DnD's fantasy world that way there will be less headache from trying to follow Tolkien's vision when you could follow the guideline of the more commonly selected fantasy world? IMO, Tolkien's world doesn't make sense to me, every corrupt Elf becomes a male Orc no matter the original sex, every Dwarf has a beard even the females and females are almost no existent, there are no female wizards, Tolkien ideas seem to give off that he hates females being in his fantasy world..
Yeah, I knew that about Whimsicott that is why it was given the Fairy type in gen 6, I like how some fairy mons has actual myth inspirations in them which way better than the other mons who are just Fairy because Pink and/or Girly.
Like for example Shiinotic is inspired by Fairy Rings, a glowing type of fungi called Fairy Fire, the Shiitake Mushroom, and the way it confuses people in the forest by using lights are similar to Will-o-Wisps.
