Until the protags were actual characters; their default names were just their games(or based on it in the case of Kris).
Additionally while not a final thing, generally very early on they call the newer protags in the same way; you can spot every protag being called their game in prerelease every time.
And its always the girl whose the second version. So yeah girl=Violet, its not going to be her final name or anything but it will probably be one of her names.
