One of the fastest pokemon in the game, Psychic typing was king, it had Recover, Blizzard and unlike Alakazam it had the Defense stat to win against physical attackers.
Honourable mention to Gen 5:
Rain was everywhere, and Starmie could fuck up all the many Fighting-types with its Psychic typing.
It was also given Psyshock and Scald and a very decent Hidden Ability.
