>The main gimmick of Serena over other PokeGirls in the main group was an open romantic affection for Ash>There is 0 chance of Ash ever getting in a relationship; it would change the dynamic of the show, alienate alot of young viewers and prevent future female characters in the games from joining the main show cast>This just results in Serena frequently swooning and steaming over Ash whilst her advances are completely ignored>Repeated gimmicks get tiresome. It's why they toned down Brocks lust and why misty began to ask about her bike less and less. Eventually something has to give with Serena's crush.>As Ash cannot have a girlfriend he either needs to openly reject her advances and ask to just be friends (likely crushing her) or she has to come to the painful realisation that he will never like her the way she likes him. I really don't see either of these happening in this kids show.>So the only option for Serena is a peck on the cheek goodbye before fading into obscurity>She might appear again for the odd episode; but Serena's ultimate want is the reason she's the least likely Pokegirl to have a meaningful reappearance in the showSo there you have it. The thing Serenafags love most about her is why we probably won't see her again.
