Huh, so this thread is still alive.
Here's an earlier concept of my above goats/rams, wanted to know if the face of the ram concerns anyone? Reason why I changed it is because I realised it was very flat and more looked like a human's than a ram's face. But other than that, this stage of the process felt the most comfy and I'd love to return to that feeling with the design.
>>32105613>>32105629The main concern is still that these designs are still just creatures holding literal scales. Yes, there are official designs that are holding real life objects, but those designs are generally less accepted than most, and since you're not GameFreak, you'll have even less chance of your fakemon gaining the affection of others.
So my advice is to do what I always do when I want to base a design on a manmade thing: find a creature or animal with a body feature that closely recembles or can be fashioned into the object you have in mind, and then work around that. So for a libra or weights, you could try a musk ox. Could be more.
>>32108444Is alright, wouldn't be sharing my stuff in this place if I wasn't be prepared for some undiluted opinions. Thankfully, my income isn't dependent on my drawings, since my actual work involves reading bacterial cultures at a hospital, it's great.
