Maybe I'd use broken ship parts. Like the anchor for the back, maybe some seaweed or whatever for limbs, maybe the steering wheel like a dimetrodon spine coming out of its back, rudder for its tail, whatever. You know, be fucking creative? Rather than drawing JUST a steering wheel and JUST an anchor next to each other and calling it a monster.
