I'm starting to notice a pattern. Just like shitposters say, the Legend series is just beta testing where Game Freak can test features for the main games. SV has some features from PLA, but not all of them, because there are actual improvements, like the iguana bike in SV. Some features are carried over to the respective generation because they are core features that could work; for example, SV has the backstrike from PLA.
This is also reflected in the characters. Many of them in PLA have drastically changed, but people don't care about them because they're literal who's. Nobody cares about the green bitch with a Chansey becoming a toddler, Cyrus and the Fire E4 becoming women, Marley losing her gothic lolita style, or Gardenia becoming a man, as long as they get pandered with newer Cynthias and Dawns.

TL;DR: The Legend series is literally an asset flip that GF is now charging $60 for.
