The gimmicks are shit, but aesthetically the Megas were the coolest. Too bad they were thrown away in gen 8 (was among the many reasons I didn't get to SwSh, keeping my team in S&M so I could kept using them). I raised half a dozen different Pokemon based off of their mega forms alone, such as Steelix, Altaria, Mawile, and Aggron.
I didn't get Gen 8, and I don't care for the supersizing, but some of those Gigantamax forms are cool, which makes me sad to think that they will be thrown away and become inaccessible when gen 9 comes out. That super tall Meowth is pretty fun.
