I didn't get hooked up the first time i played Red, but Yellow did it for me when you could walk around with your Pikachu and have a fun time doing adventures. After that, it was all the improvements done to the games that kept me going along with good shit like Pokemon Stadium
I'm seriously considering Let's go just for the sake of walking across Kanto but the lack of feature isn't good. I don't want to throw money at something that removes features instead of adding in. Just look at Heart Gold/Soul Silver. Those remakes were pretty good, added a bunch of fun shit and even took the idea of Yellow by letting you walk around with your pokemon out of his ball. But Let's go? Sure, you get connection between your cellphone and the game, but that doesn't justify the baby tier everything with nothing to show for that isn't walking with your bro
