I started playing with pokemon Yellow on Game boy color when I was around 10yo. And I've played every single generation, some of them more than once. And I can tell you without a shade of a doubt (and MANY HERE can agree with me on this one) that
Heart Gold / Soul Silver, and Black 2 / White 2
are the opus magnum of the main series to this very day, like it or not. And this is a fucking general consensus. Everything below that (main series of course) is open to debate. But this two have won the franchise and for the looks of it, it won't get any better than this
