>KantoGen 1 is probably my favorite pre-DS game. Sometimes I'll turn in for the day after getting sick of the movement controls, but aside from that, I usually play until I catch Mewtwo. For FRLG, I did a Nuzlocke back in 2018, caught a shiny Weedle, and never touched it after beating Lt. Surge.
>JohtoNever played gen 2, but I've played HGSS a bunch of times. Usually it's some time after Morty, most often at the Pokémon League, sometimes during the post-game, and on rare occasions when I'm sick of trying to find/grind up a rare spawn like Larvitar or Yanma.
>HoennI've beaten Emerald really only once. All the other times I gave up once I "summoned" Rayquaza or reach Victory Road. I've played and beat ORAS once.
>SinnohI almost always beat Sinnoh every time I play it and usually do the postgame stuff (Stark Mountain, Turnback Cave, etc.). The only times that I didn't were when I did Nuzlockes as a teenager.
>UnovaUsually at some point at or after Chargestone Cave. I've come to really appreciate the game as a whole, but the levelling curve, inflated evolution levels for later Pokémon and just general arms race of Pokémon from early routes really struggling to pull their weight after a while make it feel like more trouble than its worth.
>KalosOnly played it once when it came out, and I remember it took playing the game simultaneously with my sister to give me enough of an incentive to beat it.
>Alola and GalarUsually a slog but I do eventually beat them. Almost never do the postgame.
