The games are similar since the mapping, exploration, most of the battle system, DOE/FOE come from Etrian Odyssey.
In most of the EO games, you don't have fixed characters in your party but customisable ones of different classes instead
EO Untold / EO Untold 2 are remakes of the first and second games and have both a story mode with fixed characters, and a classic mode that plays like the other games
One thing though : EO games have WAY LESS dialogue than Persona Q, even for the Untold games.
