>>48274263Current era is the idea actually, I'm kind of going for that 'partially trapped in the '50s' look of Cuba. Colorful, decorative buildings mixed with older style Spanish architecture, that kind of thing.
But because I realize it's fantasy I've got ideas for more generalized New World things. Like I know there's no Mesoamerican stepped pyramids on those islands, but I think it'd be fun to plop one of those in the jungle somewhere.
As for the Pokemon, yeah I think there's no need for brainstorming whole new ones. There's enough that you could kind of recreate the ecosystem of just about any place on earth with Pokemon, with some liberties taken of course.
