Magmar meets an Altaria in Alola and falls in love with it. It’s a beautiful cloud bird, so how could he not fall for her? They spent a lot of time together, getting closer and all, but even when they sit together and are holding hands/wings, Magmar is always clutching his Altarianite in his other hand and never even told her about it. But as time goes by, he realizes that altaria is the one for him and he wants to propose to her. However, instead of using a ring, he uses the mega stone to propose to her (so his ‘precious’ becomes a ring in more ways than just one). But as soon as Altaria reaches over to hold the mega stone, she evolved into mega Altaria. With her new found power, she’s even more beautiful and an amazing fairy dragon. So than she looks down at Magmar and realizes, that she doesn’t love him anymore and believes that she deserves someone better. So as she soars up into the skies, Magmar longingly stares at her, as she leaves his life.
So now our buddy Magmar is extremely heartbroken and doesn’t know what to do. But he is a fiery titduck, so he turns all his grief into anger and starts fighting every Pokémon that comes his way. It doesn’t matter what typing and it doesn’t matter if he loses, he just keeps coming back until he beats them all.
One day, while he fought his way through a cave full of terribly strong mons, as he reaches the deepest point of this cave, he finds a pedal-stool made out of stone with an item on top of it, which seems to radiate immense heat. So as he reaches out to touch this curious looking box, a light starts to come from deep within him and he evolves right then and there to Magmortar. But even with his new found powers, his heart is still broken. He hates the world so much for taking away what was most precious to him, that he decided to burn all of Alola to the ground.
