Honey is Daisy Oak, or at least was intended to be at some point in development. Honey and Daisy Oak do share a vague resemblance and Daisywould be about the same age as Honey on the timeline. Honey is also the character that gives the player either Squirtle or Bulbasaur, similar to Professor Oak. Her son also happens to be great with tech and it'd make sense if he got the talent from his Great Grandfather. Honey's inherent knack for battling also makes total sense if Blue is her younger brother and Professor Oak, who I'm pretty sure used to be the champion of Kanto, is her Grandfather. When you donate enough points to her in the IoA she says that she'll invite a special trainer to the Dojo, who I believe would have been her younger brother Blue, if anyone had shown up. The reason everyone calls her Honey and not Daisy is that Mustard simply calls her that as a romantic name for her, and everyone just assumed that was her real name.
