>>50975395>The bulbasaur line is the most perfect and consistent of all the gen 1 startersWhile I don't mind the Bulbasaur line, the Charmander line is actually pretty consistent with what it's based off of. The whole line is based on the (mythological) Salamander, a lizardlike fire entity that grows into a real dragon as it ages, and we see the transition pretty clearly as Charmander evolves (and it continues on with its Mega forms, with Charizard X literally gaining the Dragon typing).
Blastoise is the odd one out here, because those grafted-on cannons come out of nowhere - there's no indication that it's going to get literal guns growing out of it at any point in its previous forms - until it suddenly has them.
