But back when the remakes got announced I was SO looking forward to see the enhanced versions of the old admins, to the point of unknowingly setting myself up for disappointment for when they where finally revealed. I was
- super excited to see Shelly in 3D
- excited to see Courtney at all (but also in 3D)
- curious if they'd make Tabitha look more like his anime counterpart or if they had something else in store for him
(welp, guess they did)- also excited to see him in 3D
- excited to find out what Matt looked like exactly (well, maybe not 'exactly' as it is to be expected for characters to get redesigned in remakes, but you know. I was mostly curious about his hair, didn't actually notice it in my first playthroughs and assumed he was bald/short haired until I looked a bit closer one time.)
- looking forward to see what their personalities would be like, now that GF had room for this kind of stuff (also their facial expressions and animations and everything. God, was I excited to see these guys)
- looking forward to see them actually interact with their bosses and hopefully other admins
- glad they'd finally get some official artwork
What I didn't expect was GF just scratching the old designs and remaking them entirely, especially since Brendan, Steven etc. were still recognizable. Didn't help how you can see bits of old Shelly and Courtney in the girls redesigns while the guys have none of that, either. So that kind of sucked...a lot.
But I like the ORAS admins for what they are on their own. Still hope the Galactic admins won't get their treatment but ORAS taught me to keep my expectations low and just hope for the best, so should there ever be D/P remakes I'll try and keep my excitement for character reappearances down.
