Ever since the Nintendo64 did meh despite being more powerful than the PS1 and the GameCube got outsold by the fucking Xbox despite being considerably more powerful than the PS2 (Which is still the highest selling console of all time despite it being significantly weaker than it's competition) but the Wii decimated the PS3 and Xbox360 in sales Nintendo has stuck to making cheaper and weaker console hardware instead of bothering to try to compete on power. The Switch was even originally going to have half the amount of RAM it has now until Capcom begged Nintendo to double it so they can fit some of their RE games on it.
