The background is faded and the center is darkened to add a moody tone, but the overall face of Ash is no different than the bottom image. It’s very limited and not expressive in the least. The slim eyes also do it no justice. It’s off-putting and clashes with the other characters around Ash because he is literally the only one who suffers from this.
