As someone who's played Pokemon since its inception, I'll offer you some insight as to why I regard Gen V as my least favorite.
-Horrible starters. I really hated the designs of the three. I did like Snivy, which was what I chose but as soon as it evolved into Serperior that's where I found myself turned off.
-Bad Pokemon designs in general. Coincides with my first point. I'm a player that chooses visually appealing Pokemon to use when I'm playing it through for the first time. I found nearly all of them to be neither cool nor cute, and by the time I reached the end I only had 4 Pokemon in my party which weren't even over-leveled as I never grind in Pokemon games. In case you were wondering what the 4 were, Serperior(Obligatory starter and HM Slave until the E4), Unfezant(Fly slave) some water Pokemon I fished out just to Surf(Sorry I can't remember this one, it's been 4-5 years) and Cinccino(The only cute Pokemon I found out of the new 150 along with Minccino)
-You don't fight Alder after defeating N. Now, this is actually a good thing if you loved Black/White cause well...you get to spend more time with the game. But as someone who, by the end, was quite tired of the game, you can see why. It lacked a good closing impact because I knew I still wasn't done with the game yet and I had 20 levels to catch up.
-Really REALLY bad Team Plasma battle music. I might need to check my facts but if I'm not mistaken, BW is the Pokemon game where you face off against the enemy organization grunts the most. Listening to their horrible battle theme repeatedly did NOT help at all.
-Unova just didn't captivate me as much as the other regions did. The only place I remember thinking to myself "Woah....this is some good stuff" was when I was at Castelia City. Many tall buildings to enter with lots of NPC's on the streets to pump some life into it, I'm quite sure this place will become a classic in the future
