The tail is meant to be an umbilical cord, it has a pink psychic bubble akin to a womb, etc. This might be thinking too deeply, but now that I think about it, the pink skin makes sense because it matches that of fetuses, and the blue eyes could be a reference to many infants being born with them due to a lack of melanin in their irises, something common in kittens as well.
