>>47764149>>47804682ok so the idea for the design was a loon with an axe theme with the wings. I took a few creative liberties with giving the line pterosaur wings and whatnot.
Stage 1: runnaloon (ice skate pokemon)
the stage 1 is a loon with penguin/seal aspects to it. It slides on its stomach and to move quickly it can slide on its runners white pushing with its feet.
Stage 2: tomaloon (throwing axe pokemon)
tomaloon is where the axe motif is most direct. The runners on its flipper/wings have become bigger, stronger, and sharper. The blades are too big to allow it to fly but its legs are now strong enough to walk and run. Its about 4 feet tall and has an really flexible neck(basically impossible to break unless you twist it +720 degrees for something) so it can be used as a throwing axe by trainers and pokemon(with hands i.e. machop). To really bring home the throwing axe idea i added some feathers to make it resemble a native american tomahawk. Oh yeah it also kind of looks like cramorant since loons and cormorants irl have similar silhouettes.
Stage 3: Pteraloon(the soaring axe pokemon)
pteraloon(pterosaur+loon, not pterodactyl)
once evolved pteraloons wings are now large enough to both accommodate its sharp axe blades but also achieve powered flight. The blades are as sharp as ever and as hard as steel or titanium or something idk. Here the design strays the most from a normal loon, being heavily inspired by the quetzalcoatlus, on the ground it would probably bend its wings to walk like one too. If the blade wings bending is kind of jank then you could also have it walk bipedally, make it fold its wings like a bird or something, some upright concepts like the one in the top right are kind of eh looking so use your better judgement. It takes off like a loon or swan on the water but it can also take off like a quetzalcoatlus on land, it still swims too btw. Also its 7-8 feet tall
Im making a final post for stats and little bits too
