XY's battle system was one of the best and most comprehensive. Megas have somewhat more intricate design than other systems, and I miss the range of battle styles present throughout that game (Single, Double, Triple, Rotation, and Hordes).

In something like Super Training or the Berry Fields, you're expected you to engage with the task over time to develop your team. Later games do make things more convenient (like the automation in Pokepelago), but I think it ironic to call this the empty hollow one when there's more actual game design at work.
