>>48424923>>48428114You should take a look at successful Pokemon "aficionados" like Jan/Pokemon Challenges and FlygonHG.
Jan is the retard that said Generation 2 was the worst installment in the franchise, but he's a business major and a successful Twitch streamer. FlygonHG is a PAINFULLY unfunny cunt with terribly taste, but he's a doctor and apparently, a former track star. When people look at them they see nothing but well-rounded success. Anything they say immediately has heightened value in the eyes of the thousands of people who listen to them ( except on 4chan ) because they've validated themselves to such a degree. If you want to have your opinions and stances heard, then you might want to stop being such a complete and total freak.
If Jordan Peterson or some other astute-looking old person came out and said that the new generation games were dogshit, you had better believe people would start paying attention, even if only to say he was validating trolls - and those kind of dismissive people would be shut up and humiliated in swift order, because if Peterson said something like that you'd better believe that he'd be able to back it up with an extremely severe decrying of modern Game Freak. Except Peterson would probably NEVER do that, because Pocket Monsters is for children and you're on /vp/ you've probably IGNORED every message about competition and self-actualization that it's ever tried to give you.
People cite Pokemon's adamant refusal to evolve its narrative beyond this simple scope, except once or twice with Black and White, and Sun and Moon, as evidence that it's stagnated as an intellectual property, but it could just as easily be said that the viewer has stagnated and their fixation on getting Pokemon to change is a symptom of obsessive insanity.
