The definition is so vague that it can include anything from Rainbow Six to some casual Facebook game. My mom use to play solitaire all the time in the late 90's and early 2000's on the computer. Does that maker her a gamer? Does playing Farmville make you a gamer?
It's a silly terms. Girl's always played video games in some sort of fashion or another ever since shit like Mario Kart and Mario Party have been around.
Only people I see make a big deal that girls play games are either girls themselves who are attention whores and feel offended by the overly majority of guys cracking GUY jokes in an online game or whiteknights such as 13 year old boys and virgin man children who hope that by defending their queen they'll be rewarded the nectar of sweet pussy.
