Generally the part I was having the most trouble with in this particular one was making the cape and fur feel like fabrics and fur. I think I may have used too much highlight and needed a less extreme gradient. something like going from my dark tone to a simpler mid tone. Plus I think having a dark tone so close to black was tripping me up.
Anyway requests are open, I'm experimenting with a line art inclusive style so I may be able to produce pictures a bit faster right now.
