As someone who sucks balls at nuzlockes, I found Hypno to be absurdly reliable throughout the course of a FireRed run. Honorable mention goes to Sawk. Usually, I don't like overly relying on a single mon, but I didn't really like a lot of my team in Black but I also autistically refused to get rid of them so I just Sawk whenever I could and he ended the game a good 15 levels higher than anyone else on my team.
