>>52870830That's a neat theory, haven't heard that one before.
I've read a lot of theories about what the disc mon might be based on, I'll make a list
>based on the imagination theory and that it's described as a brilliantly shining disc, it might represent a CD that can "write things" into reality. >based on the fact that it named the "Terastal" phenomenon, it could also be based on the legend of the Tarasque, a dragon-like creature from southern France. Although this is probably just in appearance and name only since it was a generic monster that ate people. The tarasque is "described as having a lion-like head, a body protected by turtle-like carapace(s), six feet with bear-like claws, and a scaly tail like a serpent's tail". That partly matches the illustration. Also, the fact that this legend is from southern France, it could be related to Kalos.>similar to the Tarasque, there's also "Cuca fera de Tortosa" from Catalonia, "a zoomorphic figure that looks like a tortoise with a horned spine, dragon claws and a dragon head". Other versions of this cryptid from other regions (Coco, Cuca etc) describe it as a boogeyman and shapeshifter. The name also cognates with a Portuguese word for "crown of the head". However, note that Fuecoco and its evo are definitely based on this creature (as well)
