Why is pokemon TCG vidya so cursed?

I'll never understand why they gave up so quickly on making vidya of the tcg. They could of easily churned out a new one each year with minimum effort.

If one came out today it would be a big hit since the tcg recently had a resurgence in interest.

Pokemon has always been really weird about it's spinoffs. They like to simple give up on successful spinoffs like the TCG, Stadium, and Snap. Only 22 years later have they finally broken down and made a new Snap.
