The most reasonable way I could buy a Ralts Line + Human falling in love together. You could have met when you were both the same age and had grew up together as friends and over time your relationship grew from a friendship to a romance.
I also think a healthy dialogue is good for any relationship, friendship or otherwise. So maybe sitting down and talking with the Pokemon about these feelings wouldn't be a bad idea (just make sure they understand they don't need to reciprocate them).
Think something like Korrina and Riolu/Lucario. Their relationship is described as soulmates, now in their case its the "close friend" department, but it could very easily have been a more romantic one if the two of them chose to pursue that pathway.
