>>49968786Bunnelby (Ice/Normal) and Diggersby (Ground/Ice)
-Live in snowy region. Their digging abilities had to adapt to layers of snow which gave them the Ice type.
-Bunnelby is pretty much just Bunnelby but arctic hare
-Diggersby gains snow shovel ears, a belt made of fluffy snow and grit, and its "stubble" face is replaced with a Santa beard
Spoink (Normal) and Grumpig (Psychic/Steel)
-Domesticated Spoink lost their marbles (literally and figuratively), meaning they no longer had a means to hone their Psychic powers and became Normal type
-Around the farm they became adept at collecting scrap iron (also called pig iron IRL) and balancing it on their heads
-When a Spoink becomes particularly good at this it unlocks some of their Psychic powers. They spend several years practicing their skills by delicating polishing the scrap iron into a metal sphere
-Evolve into a Grumpig once those powers are truly awakened. Looks similar to regular Grumpig with more "domesticated" palette of pink and silver, has a blacksmith apron pattern and goggle spots around eyes. Wields this massive metal sphere made from the iron it collected as a Sponk and it can swing it around with its mind. Maybe it balances on it, maybe it just stands by it, maybe it's balancing on its head... IDK.
Dwebble (Water/Bug) and Crustle (Water/Steel)
-an aquatic variant of Dwebble, does and is exactly what it says on the tin
-Evolves into a Crustle wearing "Davy Jones' Locker," as it uses refuse from the bottom of the sea to form its shell (like a robber crab). Yes, it could have gone the "give it a hydrothermal vent on its back" route like other regional Crustle ideas but for some reason I really dig the concept of a Crustle just wearing a big ass metal lockbox or "chest" on its back. It would trade offense and speed for even more defense and HP while also losing Shell Smash but gaining moves like Autotomize, Metal Burst and Gyro Ball. I could also see it getting Shelter, but so could base Crustle
