With all the dick teasing of gen 4 pokemon they were doing in all the spinoffs and media at the tail end of gen 3, I feel it was hard not to be hyped.I was 13 when DP came out and I was starved and hyped for a new game myself. Ironically enough everyone older than me in the forum I used to frequent wouldn't stop saying that pokémon is dead because it's the same old soup and blah blah blah.
While I enjoyed DP overall, I didn't get as hooked as I got with RB. The slowness of the game and the in my opinion worse battle animations like pic related, kinda ruined the enjoyment of the game for me.
