IIRC, N totally abandonned his idea of separating humans and Pokémon after the protag taught him the meaning of friendship the hard way.
Also, an idea for smut:
After six months in the wild, a female trainer ends her travels to finally get back home.
She takes a bath and there's a vaporeon in the water. Water bending sex, kinky stuff and all.
Open end implying the vaporeon sticks with the trainer and they have a long life together.
I'm not sure that it's original. I don't think I'll ever get to writing it so I share the idea in case it hasn't been made.
