you know how whenever smogon bans something, the immediate result on here is somebody complaining, and then some faggot going "why don't you make your own meta /vp/ ?"
now often the response that fag gets is "because we can't get along" and while for the most part thats true I'd like to give you the concept of a meta I've been writing the ground rules of, for some time now.
this is what I like to call the weighted team system. and its main goal is to make a meta where there are no bans or solid tiers instead there are Weight classes
the Weight classes work like this
>each pokemon, move, Item and ability receives a score reflecting its usefulness
>those scores are added together for the whole team.
>the resulting score is your teams weight class
>this is the minimum class your team may compete in.
the names and point ranges for each classes are still up for change but this is a general idea of how many there should be, and they are in descending order
Heavyweight (the ubers of this system, teams of all legends and such will be here its pretty much anything goes at this point)
Cruiserweight
Middleweight
Juniorweight
Welterweight
Lightweight
Bantamweight
Flyweight
Minimumweight (effectively the little cup)
for most of the classes you could see pokemon like Mewtwo, however the rest of the team would have to be lower scored to compensate for that kind of a pricey wringer,
I leave this here in the hope /vp/ will take interest and try to develop it more. this kind of system should be well suited for /vp/'s argumentative nature
