>The people in the town tell the player that their Gym leader has been acting strange for weeks rarely leaving his mansion and has refused all challengers. The town elder suspects that he has been possessed by a Ghost type Pokemon but nobody has been strong enough to get past the front door let alone confront him. It's up to the player accompanied by the Elder to confront the possessed gym leader and exorcise him. The route on the way to the gym is very dark and windy filled with random ghost type Pokemon jumping out at you.
>Gym is in a massive haunted mansion that sits atop of a hill. The front door of the mansion is guarded by a totem Golurk who calls on a Gourgiest and Trevenant. Once you beat Golurk and get inside the mansion, the gym puzzle requires the player to find clues and solve riddles in order to reach the top balcony where the gym leader resides.
>5 trainers (All of them ghost pokemon pretending to be human)
>2 Hex Maniacs (Haunters who call on gastlys)
>1 is disguised as your rival who tells you to turn back because you're not good enough for the Pokemon league.
>1 is disguised as your mom who asks you if winning the Pokemon league is what you really want. (Gengar)
>One is disguised as the Regional Professor who asks you if leaving your family and friends behind to pursue the Pokemon League was worth it? You answer yes. Then he asks you if you think friendship was the key to your success. You answer yes. The Pokemon reveals itself in a rage, shaking the foundation of the building, it is a Totem Gengar wo calls on 2 Chandelures. Once defeated the Gengar flees out of the room as you find the elevator key to reach the top balcony.
>Once at the top balcony you see the Gym Leader who seems normal. He asks what happened and where is everyone. Just as he thanks the player and the Elder for saving him the Gengar from before swoops out of nowhere and possesses the Gym leader.
