I think it's much more interesting to portray their differences and such.
But that's not to say all pokemon are exactly animals, I'm going to have human-shaped pokemon that behave more like people than beasts.
I just think it's important to draw the line that they are not humans.

In reality, I only make fics about things I don't like, and I end up liking them by the time I'm done.
The author should know when to step himself aside for the sake of the story and when to pour himself in it. Your opinion on the origin of what you're writing is when you should step aside.
