I think a sand castle Pokemon had the potential to be really cool. My only beef with Shirodesuna is that it's LITERALLY a sand castle with glowing eyes in the windows. They could have gone more out of their way to make it look a little more creature-esque, I suppose.
Say what you want about Vanilluxe, but at least it doesn't look like a literal ice cream cone. It actually has the justification of being snow piled on top of an overturned icicle (though the straw IS a bit weird, I'll give you that). There's some imagination thrown into the idea that pushes it beyond "literally just an ice cream cone". Hell, even Garbodor manages to make the idea of literal trash somewhat interesting, by having that agonized face and having those crazy asymmetrical tube-arms. It kinda drives the idea of a chaotic mess home. Shirodesuna doesn't have some quirky twist to it, or any bit of uniqueness that arguably pushes a possessed inanimate object over the line into being considerable as a Pokemon. It lacks a certain flair or level of detail to it that makes me feel like it could have just been plopped into any random JRPG as a random enemy encounter. I hate to say it, but it really doesn't look like a Pokemon at all.
