I think that Hoenn's fossils are for more interesting designs, have more substance to the choice of which you take by how much difference there is between them and generally feel more standout amongst the fossil crowd. Unova/Kanto's designs are also much more solid in my eyes, and Rampardos gets major points for being one of the few fossils to have a reason for going extinct.
