I don't care, as long as the Pokemon is fun to play and the design isn't so on the nose to be distracting (I don't think anything comes to that point, though the big black M on Camerupt's forehead is getting there)
And to some extent I'd rather trainers have thematically aligned Pokemon than just random Pokemon of their type (unless the juxtaposition is the point, e.g. Phoebe). I think Milo and Nessa having a cotton ball granny and a big snapping turtle is stupid as hell
