Nothing really to put there that you don't already see in Kanto or Johto.
Sinnoh is cold. Hoenn is subtropical. Those give them unique characters.
The Kyoto/Kansai region would be fun, but they basically already did it in Johto. The 'old, religious, and spiritual' thing is Kyoto's shtick, IRL, but Johto's in-game.
Izumo is even older and more religious so it at least has some room for unique character.
The Shikoku island area is meh.
