Got round to actually playing this game, pretty good fun. Definitely balanced around the assumption that you keep your starter, but it's still not too rough without it. Going for a rather thematically appropriate team composition (with a slot saved for the jam dj, as that was my suggestion solely so that its dex entry can be full of puns) - Mari is going to get benched as soon as something else is available, as I don't want three flying types, even if geese are the most dentally adept of all birds.
