I mean in the Pixel era it made sense because you couldn't differentiate it from a Pokeball/Item, but now with 3D and Pokemon appearing freely on the field, how does the mimic mechanic work? Are they normal Pokeballs and do they transform? Can they be different from a normal pokeball? Do items still appear behind a Pokeball? And what about its regional versions or its Unova and Galar counterpart?
