fourth gen starters were good, the 1st and 2nd evos were a bit bland and the only qualms were with infernape. He is just a bit too humanoid, but cool nonetheless.
5th gen starters, completely different from the trend. Relatively overdesigned excluding the grass one (which is the opposite) with the water one's 3rd evo following no trends from previous evos. Like, what the fuck happened?
6th gen starters are a bit better from the previous 5th gen. It's a bit refreshing seeing the designers tone things down a bit. But there is already a fire fox, water frog, and a grass nut.
