>>35101823This happen with a lot of Pokémon. Concepts what are executed to do a designs with specific role/gimmicks on Pokémon world, even if they are ugly, abstract, strange or goofy for some reason.
But a lot of people only cares regular designs, familiar faces and ridiculously easy to understand concepts. This is not soooo bad, but it's a real problem when those people thinks they know how Pokémon World should work better than their creators and want retcons of all those things that they don't understand or they hate.
Doesn't matter if Trubbish/Garbodor are a bunny and a rat respectively with trashbag forms. Doesn't matter if they are intended to be ugly because pollution is a bad thing.
Maybe with Gen 1 eyes would be better, just because is recognizable. Or ghost-type, just because a lot of people don't understand how a object can live and just understand the "ghost possesing things" theme. At least that's the only reason by which the most popular objectmons (Chandelure and Aegislash) are ghost-type.
