Because you're a dumb kid in the games I think there should be a mechanic where the player falls off their bike randomly. It happens maybe five or ten times and then the chance of falling is greatly reduced.
You now have a chance to fall off of your bike every time you encounter a Pokemon or hatch an egg and the chance is exactly the same as your current shiny rate.
Imagine if you'd never seen a shiny but you'd fallen off your bike like 20 times.
