I'll start with how I feel about butterfree in original gold/silver
Leveling it up to 10 is really easy because you can use the sprout tower filled with the level 3 belsprout trainers to move it up to 10 really fast. Once there it learns confusion which is a huge powerhouse offense to have at that point in the game. Then just at level 15 it has learned stun spore and sleep powder which is so good
I speak from experience so many of the early game pokemon in g/s have such poor level up moves and they take forever to learn them. It is a godsend to have this butterfree in your party when you know your main party won't be learning shit for awhile
By as early as 31 its going to be firing of psybeams and
Shit I love this thing. Its also one of my favorite shinies because it has ingame mention of it via one of the trainers talking about a mythical pink butterfree when you beat them.
I hope one day to get a pink butterfree
