problem is, a lot of people buy a 10 foot long snake and cram it into a 8x2 box (if it's lucky)
pic related is considered "ok" by large snake keepers but reticulated pythons do a fair bit of traveling in the wild and have pretty sizable home ranges so I can't help but feel that large snake keepers are just fags who want a big animal but don't feel like dedicating all that much space to it
turns out a lot of snakes are much more active in the wild than they've been historically thought to be (emerald tree boas are another great example, they barely move an inch all day but descend hundreds of feet to the forest floor each night to hunt for mammals)
