I understand they are currently used as a trading currency, therefore we have a quantifiable value, though that trading feature will go away in Live & per what I know if you go beyond the game 4x copies limit the pull gets turned into dust, people need dust to create cards, this comes from opening packs and thus codes are needed.
I think they'll be more valuable, we'll see.
